Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 with 48MP camera set to launch in India on February 28

The launch date is finally here. Xiaomi has officially confirmed the India launch date for the Redmi Note 7. Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi Note 7 in India on February 28. Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Jain believes that the Redmi Note 7 will turn the Indian smartphone industry upside down. The India pricing of the Redmi Note 7 is expected to be around Rs 10,000. And if only Xiaomi can get the India price of the Note 7 right this is the phone the consumers should wait for.
The Redmi Note 7 was first launched in China last month for a starting price of 999 yuan which roughly translates to Rs 10,500. This price is for the 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage model f the Redmi Note 7. There are two more models too. The second variant of the Note 7 with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage sells for 1199 yuan, roughly translates to around Rs 12,400 while the top-end model of the phone with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage retails for 1399 yuan, roughly translates to Rs 14,500. We expect all the three models of the phone to head to India as well and the pricing should be pretty much close to the China price.
The same China model of the Redmi Note 7 is expected to come to India. Xiaomi has tried pretty different and new things with the Redmi Note 7, something we haven't seen on the previous Notes. This is the first Redmi Note phone to come with waterdrop notch and gradient finish on the back. The Redmi Note 7 is available in several funky colours in China and all the colour variants of the phone are expected to head to India too.
The USP of the Redmi Note 7 is its 48MP rear camera. The Redmi phone includes two cameras on the back panel and single camera on the front which will sit inside the waterdrop notch. The Redmi Note 7 includes a primary camera of 48MP sensor paired with f/1.8 aperture and secondary camera of 5MP sensor for capturing depth or portrait shots. On the front, the Redmi Note 7 includes a 13MP camera which comes paired with lots of AI features like -- AI face unlock, AI smart beauty, AI single shot blur, among others.
The Redmi Note 7 is a way improved version of its predecessor Redmi Note 6 Pro. The smartphone comes packed with a 6.3-inch full-HD+ LTPS display with screen resolution of 1080x2340 pixels and aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display of the Redmi Note 7 is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Interestingly the back panel of the Note 7 is also made of glass which gives a premium touch to the phone.
On the hardware front, the Redmi Note 7 is powered by 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. In China, the Redmi Note 7 has been launched in three variants -- 3GB RAM/32GB storage, 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/64GB storage. The Redmi Note 7 comes packed by a 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.
