Teaching Job Education Posts in Government colleges soon.
GOVERMENT JOBS IN ODISHA STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION:
ODISHA: The higher Education department has decided to fill up 390 non-teaching posts lying vacant in different government colleges in the state. It will appoint 294 persons through direct recruitment process, while 96 other vacant posts will be filled up by way of promotion.
The department has asked the director of higher education on Monday to start the recruitment process. Odisha Staff Selection Commission will conduct the tests for recruitment for the vacant posts, said a senior higher education department official.
Department sources said it will appoint 103 junior clerks, 154 laboratory assistants, 18 junior librarians and 19 physical education teachers (PET) through direct recruitment process on contractual basis. There are 52 government colleges in the state.
As many as 89 junior clerks are working in the colleges against the sanctioned 192 posts. Only 13 lab assistants are on the job in the place of 167 sanctioned positions. The vacancy is very high which affects the work of laboratories in the colleges across the state. Similarly, 50 per cent junior librarian posts have been lying vacant and only 15 persons are working as PET against the sanctioned post of 34.
Besides this, the government will fill up 96 vacant non-teaching posts through promotion basis. The colleges have 23 vacant posts of assistant librarian, 44 lab attendants, 24 library attendants and five senior librarians. The higher education department has asked the director of higher education to take necessary steps and fill up the posts immediately. It has asked a report regarding this issue from the director within a month.
